09.09.2020 - We continue to follow government updates and at this stage the weekend is still going ahead.
In terms of the event and what the government has said the guidelines are the same as before. The park and its staff has been working to these guidelines all summer, operating a busy campsite and it has worked well. Please note we have made lots of changes to the normal programming of the event, these can be viewed below. We have stripped back the entertainment to avoid large gatherings of groups and we will be monitoring group pitches around the campsite. Unless something more drastic is implemented or we encounter a local lockdown in the Ashburton area the weekend will go ahead as planned.
02.09.2020 - We are pleased to announce that we are able to bring you a camping weekend on the 2nd to the 4th October 2020. It will be quite different to a normal Oktoberfest but we hope you'll seize the opportunity to get away with friends and family before this crazy year is out.
It will be a chilled camping experience, an opportunity to really explore the park and its activities and catch up with friends around the campsite. Bring your bikes, pack your wetsuits and explore the outdoors.
As normal, there will still be a selection of our favourite traders and the Show & Shine will take place on Sunday.
The campsite has been open since July and the Park has had to make a lot of changes to comply with government guidelines and ensure their visitors have a safe visit. We are working alongside the Park staff to bring you a fun, safe weekend, we need to respect the current system and we hope you'll join us at this year's special Volkswagen Adventure.
There are some important things you NEED to know before you book tickets...
* The total number of pitches has been reduced to comply with social distancing on the campsite and around the park. We have your pitch request and they are safe.
* We plan to get out around the campsite for some daytime fun and games but there will be no night time entertainment.
* We will not be using the big marquee and covered area outside the Old Sawmill where we normally run competitions and music. We will however play some background music along with some friendly catch up VW chat.
* The site is now cashless. The cash machine will also be closed.
* Food and Drink: The Old Sawmill will be offering food and drink by takeaway and table service only.
* Table Service: there are lots of tables and benches outside the Old Sawmill, QR codes are supplied on the tables and you can order food & drink via an app.
* All activities including Dare Devils, The Dartmoor Bike Park & tennis courts will be open and available. The activities need to be pre-booked online.
* The bounce zone, water zorbs and indoor climbing wall will be closed.
* The shop is one family in and one out up to a max of 5 people.
* Masks must be worn when entering any building including amenity blocks.
* Day visitors are welcome, tickets must be pre-booked online.
* Extra nights camping will be available on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights.
* Tickets will go on sale at 19.00 on Sunday 6th September
